Are you a skilled and passionate Mammographer looking to make a real impact? InHealth, a leading provider in the National Breast Screening Programme, is seeking an experienced Breast Screening Radiographer to join our dedicated team at the Jarvis Centre in Guildford, Surrey.

We provide essential breast screening services to women across Surrey and North East Hampshire with a fleet of 5 mobile vans and additional capacity at the Jarvis Centre. Our Assessment Clinics are staffed by a multi-disciplinary team of experts, including Consultant Radiologists, Associate Breast Clinicians, Advanced Practitioners, Mammographers, Assistant Practitioners, and clinical and administrative staff, all working together to follow the NHSBSP’s triple assessment model – mammography, clinical examination, and needle biopsy.

What’s the Role Like?
This is a part-time opportunity, offering 22.5 hours per week on a flexible local rota from Monday to Friday.

As a Mammographer with InHealth, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering high-quality breast cancer screening services, playing a crucial role in women’s health. You’ll carry out mammograms, support assessment clinics, including stereotactic biopsies, and contribute to the development of Assistant Practitioners. With room for professional growth, you’ll also take on additional managerial duties and deputise for the Superintendent Radiographer when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deputise for the Superintendent Radiographer and work collaboratively to deliver top-quality screening services.
  • Support the operation of 5 Mobile Breast Screening vans, serving NHS Surrey and parts of Hampshire.
  • Lead and mentor Radiographic Assistants in the Hub Department, helping them develop and grow professionally.
  • Provide clinical and professional leadership for the radiographic aspects of the service at Jarvis Centre.
  • Lead by example in delivering high-quality technical skills while ensuring every patient has a caring and personalised experience.
  • Stay up-to-date on policies, procedures, and systems that ensure efficiency and smooth operation of the screening service.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A BSc in Radiography and PG Cert in Mammography.
  • HCPC registration.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with a diverse range of patients.
  • A collaborative mindset – someone who can work across teams and embrace diversity to achieve shared goals.
  • A commitment to maintaining and advancing technical knowledge in breast imaging, with a keen eye for detail and excellent professional judgement.

For eligible* roles (which includes this one), we offer an additional payment of £10 per hour, up to a maximum of £50 per day, for each weekend day worked. This is paid monthly in arrears.

*This includes colleagues delivering face to face patient care in the Targeted Lung Health Check mobile units, Endoscopy, AAA Screening, Breast Screening, PET-CT, Audiology, Mobiles, Imaging Centres and CDC’s. Note that this payment is not applicable to clinical staff working within the Echocardiography division, or Diabetic Eye Screening. The Weekend Payment does not apply to those on a flexible working agreement and part time workers that have requested to work weekend hours/days as part of their working agreement. The Weekend Payment also doesn’t apply to those who are working remotely or carrying out administrative work from home.
