About The Role

Location- Nationwide supporting Community Diagnostic Centres

Hours- 37.5, Typically Monday- Friday in line with business needs 

 

InHealth sees more than 5 million patients annually and is expanding our Phlebotomy Service. 

Following the Michael Richards report, which highlighted the need for a new approach to delivering diagnostic services to provide greater accessibility to people in the community away from acute settings, we at InHealth are excited to partner with the NHS to develop new Community Diagnostic Centres to support this vision. 

We are currently looking to recruit a Phlebotomy Clinical Lead to join our innovative and growing organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and shape phlebotomy and POCT services within a dynamic healthcare environment. Reporting to senior leadership, you will oversee clinical governance, training, service development, and operational excellence. 

This is a nationwide role, working from home and traveling to our community diagnostic centers across the country as required, hence this role is eligible for a company car allowance 

The Role

As the Phlebotomy Clinical Lead, you will lead phlebotomy and point-of-care testing (POCT) services within a dynamic and growing healthcare organisation, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care. You will be responsible for establishing and managing new clinic sites, maintaining efficiency and compliance with all regulations. Acting as a representative of the organisation, you will collaborate with NHS stakeholders for site setup and service review meetings. Additionally, you will work closely with business development teams, providing expert phlebotomy insights to support bids and proposals. A key part of your role will involve supporting and developing a team of phlebotomists through effective line management, training, and mentorship, fostering a culture of growth and excellence.

  • Staying updated with and implementing governance and accreditation standards.
  • Writing and updating policies and competencies.
  • Leading training initiatives and ensuring all team members meet competency requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with InHealth and Departmental policies and procedures.
  • Complete mandatory training at the frequency outlined by InHealth.
  • Adhere to established clinical guidelines and protocols to ensure the highest standards of patient safety and care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices within the Phlebotomy and POCT services.
  • Driving excellence in phlebotomy and POCT services.
  • Contribute to departmental research through investigations and audits.
  • Act as an advocate for patients, ensuring they receive the best possible care and support throughout their treatment journey.
  • Work closely with all areas and teams within the Community Diagnostic Centres.
  • Support and mentor junior phlebotomists, sharing knowledge and promoting best practices  

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Significant experience as a phlebotomist.
  • A drive for delivering exceptional patient care.
  • A passion for supporting and developing teams.
  • A forward-thinking approach and a willingness to embrace change

  • Leading or managing phlebotomy services.
  • Setting up and running clinics or healthcare sites.
  • Writing and implementing policies, competencies, and governance frameworks.
  • Training, mentoring, and assessing healthcare professionals.
  • Engaging and collaborating with NHS teams and external stakeholders
